Planning permission granted on plans for 217 Harrow Road

We’re delighted to announce that yesterday evening (20th September) Westminster City Council granted planning permission on our plans for a new homelessness facility at 217 Harrow Road.

The proposals for the new building were developed with leading homeless charity St Mungo’s and socially responsible developer Stories. The plans feature two buildings of eight and 20 storeys providing 56 self-contained homes for people who have experienced homelessness.

The new facility will be enabled through the delivery of 98 new rental homes for Westminster, a proportion of which will be provided at affordable rent in a new, adjacent residential building.

Thank you to all those who took part in our community consultation. The design, led by Stirling prize winning architects AHMM, has been informed by hundreds of local people, stakeholders as well as St Mungo’s staff and clients.

Co-Founder of Stories, James Scott said:

“We’re thrilled to be delivering this innovative project in partnership with St Mungo’s, working closely with Westminster City Council. Our purpose as a development company is to deliver social, economic and environmental outcomes for local people and we’ve worked hard over the last couple of years to find a solution for this challenging site. The involvement of local stakeholders and neighbours has been instrumental in shaping the proposals.”
