Our plans for the future of 217 Harrow Road.

We are working up plans for a new building to support people who are homeless or sleeping rough in Westminster. The redevelopment will also deliver new homes, affordable homes and local benefits, all within the existing site.

This website is just about plans for the redevelopment of the building, which we're delivering with our partner, Stories. If you want to visit St Mungo's main website, click here.

"We work together with people on their recovery. It’s a partnership. We look at people’s strengths, ambitions and goals, and as such we recognise that the living environment is as important as the staff and support within the four walls."
Steve Douglas CBE, St Mungo's CEO 2020-2022.

As well as a caring and professional team, we need the best possible facilities to reflect our commitment to tackling homelessness. Read Steve's blog on why this building is so important and watch our video below.

Explore the history of the Harrow Road

St Mungo’s has been at 217 Harrow Road for over 30 years and we have seen the area undergo many changes. We have dug into the archives and looked at the history of the Harrow from before the Westway was built. We have found some great old photos.

Who is St Mungo's?

St Mungo’s vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions. We have been supporting people who are homeless for over 50 years and continue to work harder than ever to reverse the rise in homelessness and rough sleeping and change lives for the better.

The people we support sit right at the heart of everything we do and we are shaped by their stories, their experience and their knowledge. Every night our outreach teams go out to help people sleeping rough to move away from the streets for good, and we provide a bed and support to over 1,350 people every night, including here at 217 Harrow Road.

We’re working in partnership on this particular project with Stories, a socially responsible property development company, that shares our ambition to deliver true social value for the Harrow Road neighbourhood.
